Abstract

Punjab has been under the auspices of various states since its inception. Faridkot is one such princely state. From the 12th Century, Faridkot was known as Mokal Nagar, during that time King Mokeldev was the ruler of that place, who was the grandson of Raja Manj. On arrival of Baba Farid in city, he named it Faridkot in the 16th century, Faridkot remained under many regimes, and finally it was occupied by the Brar lineage. After the abolition of the Mughal rule, in 1827, the King of Brar Region Raja Pahara Singh took over the control. From 1849 to 1874, Wazir Singh, the son of the mountains, was its king. From 1874 to 1898, Bikram Singh had the opportunity to rule the Sikh state. From 1898 to 1906, Balvir Singh was a powerful ruler. From 1906 to 1916 the Kaushal of Regency was being held in Faridkot State. In 1916, Maharaja Brijinder Singh took over the control of the state. He built many buildings and gardens in Faridkot. After his death in 1918, he was the ruler of the skill of administration until 1934. Harinder Singh, the last ruler of the Faridkot Sikh kingdom, took over the state affairs in 1934. Raja Harinder Singh has constructed a primary school and health center, 4 colleges, agricultural colleges, 8 high schools in each village. There are more than three dozen beautiful monuments in Faridkot. Over time, some of those condition have worsened, but Secretariat, Victoria Tower, Raj Mahal, Moti Mahal, Shahi Fort, Shahi Smadha etc.The condition of these buildings is still very good. In this way, there are many historical buildings of the dominion.
