Abstract

Menstrual health and hygiene encompass both menstrual health management and broader systemic factors that link menstruation with health, well-being, gender equality, education equity, empowerment, and rights. Menstrual hygiene practices are affected by cultural norms, personal preferences, economic status, and socio-economic pressure. The present study aims to analyze how education changes the experiences and perceptions of menstrual health and hygiene among household industry workers in Faizabad district. The study is mainly based on primary sources of data, which were collected through field surveys at the household level. Based on purposive random sampling, a total of 200 female workers from rural and urban areas (100 each) of Faizabad district have been surveyed with the help of questionnaire interviews in January 2023. The data has been analyzed by using the Karl Pearson Correlation technique and Student t-test. GIS techniques have been used for preparing location maps. Results show that education is important in improving menstrual health and hygiene practices among female household industry workers
