WATER POLLUTION CAUSED BY CEMENT INDUSTRY AND ITS PHYSIO-CHEMICAL ANALYSIS

Abstract

Temperature, Colour, Odour, Taste, pH, Alkalinity, Hardness, Acidity, Chloride, BOD, COD, Phosphate, Silica, Turbidity, Conductivity were the important parameter to be studied in water. Before consuming and using for domestic purpose we have to check the water parameters and compare with ‘WHO’ tolerance limit values.

By the analysis of waste water coming from cement industry from the sewer it is concluded that water coming from cement industry can directly used for the irrigation purpose but not used for the domestic purpose. It requires the better treatment processes before consuming.
