Abstract

In the recent past, there has been huge attention given to women's empowerment worldwide and countries have paved the way for a better workplace environment specifically for women. Theinternational bodies have laid down suggestions and guidelines for the signatory states to inculcate the same. Iceland and Canada are one such countries that are known as pink countries i.e. laws favoring the uplift and betterment of women's communities. In the WEF report, Iceland ranks first in terms of empowerment for women followed by various countries like Denmark, Switzerland, and so forth, this article will be restricted to Iceland, Canada, and India. It must be kept in mind that India is a developing and third-world country that gradually diverted its attention on the rights and interests of women in the workplace thus leading to baby steps as compared to Canada and Iceland. The author has dealt with the laws and Government initiatives taken for the empowerment of women.
