Abstract

The proposedagenda item at the 15th BRICS summit for induction of  six economies (Saudi Arabia, Iran, Egypt, Argentina.UAE and Ethiopia) in the BRICS grouping has brought optimism as expansion is expected to strengthen the groups’ global prowess, overcome inherent weaknesses, create opportunities to enhance economicintegration in myriad sectors and collectively counter and leverage global challengesconcomitantly creating new pathways of job creation and income generation in the member countries for  global peace, progress and prosperity. The core purpose of the study is to critically analyze the justification and rationality of adding new members and also compare member states on key macro indicators. Keeping under consideration geopolitics at play,wide disparity among member states and their far of geographical locations and affiliations across globe, the article throw lights on opportunities and challenges for member states to deliberate and act on common agenda and policies.The study recommends that besides trade and investment where the favorableoutcomesdepend on myriad exogenous factors,  energy transition, tourismand digital technology are three key sectors where strategic partnership can be highly  rewarding and form positive vibes among populace in the BRICS+ Communities.
