Abstract

This systematic review explores the evolving landscape of consumer perceptions towards traditional supermarket shopping and online shopping. With the rapid growth of e-commerce, understanding the factors influencing consumer choices and preferences is crucial for retailers and policymakers. The review synthesizes findings from a range of studies conducted over the past decade, highlighting key themes such as convenience, pricing, product variety, and trust.

Results indicate a clear shift towards online shopping, driven by factors like time savings and home delivery services. However, supermarkets remain preferred for their tactile experience and immediate product availability. This review provides a comprehensive overview of the current consumer mindset, offering valuable insights for developing strategies that enhance customer satisfaction in both shopping environments. The implications of these findings for future retail trends and consumer behavior are discussed, emphasizing the need for a hybrid approach to cater to diverse consumer needs.
