Abstract

Social media is a forum wherein, the public can express their issues and opinions. By utilizing this platform, individuals can make their voices heard and effect positive change in the world around them. The phrase "social media" refers to interactions between groups or individuals where they create, distribute, and occasionally trade ideas, photographs, videos, and many other types of content in communities on the internet. Social media or digital platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat are well-known examples of how platforms permit individuals to remain connected in a virtual world regardless of impediments like distance or other constraints. Social networks have significant impacts on young people. It is becoming more and more evident that social networks have progressively taken on a significant role in every aspect of life. The majority of individuals check notifications, status updates, and tweets from their friends and family on their laptops, tablets, computers, and smartphones. Social media is an emerging technology with tremendous potential and ample scope for development. Social media's effect on subjective well- being is a matter of concern globally despite their increasing prevalence in people's lives and significant benefits in instantaneously communicating with others. This research paper emphasizes gaining insights into the experiences, and behavioral patterns of several individual’s life to know the influence of social media in their daily routine. The data was collected by a survey method. The present study intends to assist individuals in designing interventions pertaining to refrain from addictive social media platforms.
