Abstract

Kamala Das is a prominent figure in Indo-Anglican literature, known for her bold and unconventional poetry. Despite having a small body of work, she has made a significant impact with her three volumes of poems - "Summer in Calcutta" (1965), "The Descendants" (1967), and "The Old Play House and Other Poems" (1973). In addition to her poetry, she has also written an autobiography titled "My Story" and several controversial essays, such as "I Have Studied All Men" and "Why Not More Than One Husband."
