Vāde vāde jāyate tatvabodhaḥ - arguments lead to deep wisdom (such is an expected standard of an argument). This paper explores the potential for applying the traditional Nyāya debate methodology to contemporary societal contexts by examining how structured debate and critical questioning can address and resolve conflicts to promote effective governance and enhance public discourses. Drawing on the rich intellectual tradition of Nyāya in Indian philosophy, which emphasizes the importance of reasoned argument and valid knowledge, this paper presents a vision for its application to modern institutions such as courts, corporations, parliaments, and the general populace to provide a framework for fostering constructive dialogue in various sectors of society. In the Indian intellectual tradition, particularly within Vedic literature, the Puranas, and the Kāvyas, Praśna (questioning) has been recognized as the foundation for Mukti (liberation). This approach reflects a unique yet insightful path of self-questioning that leads to self-realization and enlightenment.
