Abstract

Now-a- days, the Mobile – Phone has emerged out as the prime important tool in ICT umbrella. The Mobile – Phone is comparatively easy to operate, it provides the right information to the right people at the right time. It has also entered in the teaching - learning process. somehow, the Mobile – Phone use makes effect on the teachers’ competency in teaching.

The present study has been undertaken to throw light in these concerns. In the present study the teachers of Govt. Intermediate Colleges of the Uttarkashi District of Uttarakhand State (India) were selected as the sample of the study. A self-developed tool was employed for data-collection work. It was observed that the teachers, whether male or female, with Science background exhibited better perception towards the effectiveness of Mobile – Phone use, say Mobile – Phone literacy, in their Class-teaching, or say teaching -competency, in comparison to those teachers with non-Science background.
