Abstract

The biography and mystical teachings of the medieval Indian Sufi saint Bu Ali Qalandar. Though he was born in Panipat, his teachings on the importance of love, togetherness, and dedication to God had a tremendous impact on the spiritual landscape of the Indian subcontinent. He fostered interfaith cooperation through his syncretic approach, which united indigenous spiritual traditions with Islamic Sufism. This study elucidates his literary works, with an emphasis on his Persian poetry, which has inspired and continues to inspire spiritual seekers and his contributions to Sufi philosophy. Bu Ali Qalandar's shrine is still a place of pilgrimage for people of all faiths, and this research also looks at the social and cultural effects of this. Examining Bu Ali Qalandar's teachings, writings, and lasting impact, this dissertation seeks to illuminate his significance in the context of Indian spirituality and Sufism, both historically and in the present day.
