Abstract

The dropout behavior in youth sports has become a significant concern in recent years, attracting attention from coaches, parents, and sports enthusiasts. It refers to the phenomenon where young athletes terminate their participation in sports prematurely, often before they have reached their full potential or top performance levels among college students.  In this connect current study mainly aims to analyzes the socio-economic profile of the undergraduate students of selected degree colleges and evaluate the motives among undergraduate college students dropout the sports activities in selected degree colleges. The primary data was collected by on the basis issue of questionnaire, the survey has been done 100 degree college students were selected Maharaja Frist Grade Degree College in Mysore City. Lastly this study results that majority of the college students opinioned youth athletes often face physical challenges such as injuries or chronic pain, which can lead to frustration and eventual dropout. Mental health issues such as, stress, anxiety or lack of confidence, can also cause athletes to disengage from their sport. Sometimes, the pressure to perform can exacerbate these issues, making it difficult for athletes to continue sports activities among the college students in Mysore City.
