Abstract

This study investigated the effects of an eight-week yoga-based intervention on stress,  anxiety, and concentration levels among female collegiate volleyball players. A total of 50 participants, aged 18 to 24, engaged in structured yoga sessions involving physical postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and guided meditation. A pre-test/post-test design was used to assess changes in psychological and cognitive outcomes using the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), and a concentration task. Results showed significant reductions in stress and anxiety levels, along with improved concentration following the intervention. These findings suggest that yoga can be an effective complementary approach to support psychological well-being and cognitive function in competitive female athletes.
