An Analysis of Physico- Chemical Property of Ground Water in District- Jaunpur, U.P.

Abstract

This study investigates the physicochemical properties of ground water in Jaunpur district,U.P. to assess its suitability for drinking and agricultural purposes. Ground water samples from various blocks were analyzed for parameters including pH, TDS, electrical conductivity, hardness and concentrations of major cations and anions. Result indicate that while groundwater is mostly suitable for irrigation, several samples exceeds the permissible limits for drinking according to BIS and WHO standards. The study emphasizes the urgent need for regular monitoring and sustainable water management strategies.
